Spirit West Coast – Monterey will be held at the Laguna Seca Recreation Area in Monterey, California, August 1-3, 2013.

 

Hours / Schedule: Thursday/Friday/Saturday – Parking gates open at 8:30 a.m. Gates open to event area at 9:30 a.m. Concerts and activities begin at 10:30 a.m. and end at 12:00 midnight. The public activity areas are cleared promptly at the conclusion of the Laguna Late Nite concerts (12:00 midnight).

 

Early Arrival: Wednesday – Campground gates will open to campers only, July 31, at 4 p.m. A campground pass is required for entry. Festival gates will open for full-event ticket holders Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. Full-event ticket holders are invited to attend Wednesday Laguna Late Nite concerts beginning at 8:30 p.m.

 

ATM Service – is available near the Camp Meeting tent and on Vendor Island.

 

Alcoholic Beverages and Drugs - are not permitted on the festival grounds. Anyone found under the influence or in possession of these substances will be escorted off the property and/or referred to local law enforcement.

 

Artist Merchandise – is available for sale in the Exhibit Tent.

 

Basketball - is free at the designated area. Balls can be checked out at the SWC Information Booth inside the Exhibit Tent.

 

Camp Curfew – is at 1:00 a.m. Please respect your fellow campers by remaining at your campsite and containing all noise after the curfew. The property will be secured and no one will be allowed “in or out.”  

 

Campfires – Open flame campfires are not permitted. Metal camp stoves and charcoal cookers may be used for food preparation only. Charcoal must be deposited in red ash cans marked “Hot Ash Only.” Laguna Seca fire control rules will be strictly enforced. No exceptions! This applies to all campgrounds.

 

Chairs and Blankets – Chairs are provided at all the indoor tent venues. Blankets, mats or low-profile beach chairs (only) may be used for outdoor ground seating at the Main Stage seating area. Large lawn chairs, large beach umbrellas, or shade canopies that restrict the view of others will only be permitted along the perimeter of the rear portion of the audience area at the Main Stage. No chairs of any kind will be permitted from the first lawn forward to the stage barricade from 3:00 – 10:30 pm. This is by order of the Salinas Rural Fire Department for safety reasons. Do not leave items unattended to save spaces. All items left unattended in front of the Main Stage area will be turned into Information/Lost & Found. The Main Stage lawn will also be cleared at the conclusion of each evening – do not leave things unattended while attending the Laguna Late Nite concerts.

 

Children – Child-care is not provided at anytime during the festival – VeggieLand is not a child-care program. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children at all times. Lost children should be taken to the Information / Lost & Found booth located at the Main Stage area. VeggieLand is open Thurs-Sat, 10:30 a.m. – 4.

 

Circle 100 – This patron program features a reserved seating area at the K-LOVE Main Stage and a VIP artist reception.

 

COLLIDE Youth Camp – package includes camping, meals, and specific youth camp programming, in addition to all festival activities.

 

Deaf Interpreters – Interpretation for deaf provided at the K-LOVE Main Stage. Please contact the SWC Admin Office if you are attending and are in need of these services.

 

Disabled Parking – is available. A state issued placard is required. Cars parked in disabled zones without the blue placard will be ticketed by law enforcement agencies.

 

Exhibit Tent / Vendor Island Hours – are 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dozens of exhibitors showcase their businesses, art, ministries, music and products on Vendor Island and in the Exhibit Tent.

First Aid/Ambulance – There are two first aid stations located on the grounds. One station is near the K-LOVE Main Stage, and the second station is located at the Air 1 Stage. An ambulance is on-site from 9:30 a.m. until midnight. If ambulance service is required, the person requiring the trip is responsible for the fees incurred. For safety reasons, shoes must be worn at all times.

 

Food – There is a wide variety of food available for purchase from vendors on the festival grounds.

 

Gates Open – at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Concerts/activities begin at 10:30 a.m. You must leave the public activity areas at the conclusion of the Laguna Late Nite concerts (12:00 midnight).  

 

General Store – Milk, bread and other staples are available at the SWC General Store. Also available are misc. camping supplies, candy and snacks, bottled water, ice, and more. Store hours are 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 midnight.

 

Grandstand Seating - A limited number of premium grandstand (bleacher) seats are available for $6 (per admission) per day. Tickets are available in advance. Purchase by phone or online. If tickets remain unsold prior to the event, tickets will be available during the festival at the Information/Lost & Found booth near the Main Stage.

 

Handicapped – See “Disabled Parking” or “Wheelchair Seating.”

 

Hotel Lodging – The nearby vacation resort areas of Monterey and Carmel have a good number of rooms available in various price ranges. Hotels are also available in the nearby towns of Salinas and Marina. Make your reservations early. Check the Hotels page for referrals.

 

Ice – Bags of ice are available for sale at the General Store.

 

Information Booth – personnel will be able to answer your questions and help direct you to various areas of activity on the festival grounds. There are three information booths – one at Check-In Row near the Wolf Hill Parking Lot, one at the Main Stage area and one inside the Exhibit Tent. General information is available, as are registration forms and entry boxes for the “Win Free Tickets to SWC 2014″ contest. Lockers are only available at the Main Stage Information/Lost & Found booth.

 

Laguna Late Nite – concerts take place each night in the large tents, 10:45 p.m. – 12:00 midnight.  

 

Literature Distribution – is not permitted under any circumstances. No unauthorized materials may be sold or posted – strictly enforced. Please do not stick decals/stickers on buildings or signs – they damage property.

 

Litter – Help keep the festival grounds clean by disposing of all trash in the nearest trashcan. Please “police” your camping area when you break camp and crush and compact your trash as much as possible; managing the trash is an ongoing concern. Please deposit items for recycling in the provided recycling containers.  

 

Lockers – are only available at the Information booth near the Main Stage. Small daily fee includes in-and-out privileges. ALL belongings must be claimed at the end of EACH day.

 

Lost and Found – All lost and found items should be taken to, and retrieved from, the Information/Lost & Found booths.

 

Moshing – Moshing, slamming and crowd surfing can be extremely dangerous. Please respect everyone’s safety by refraining from this dangerous behavior. Festival security will enforce this policy.

 

Music Store – The official music store of the festival can be found in the Exhibit Hall.

 

OHVs/Motorized Scooters Prohibited – The Laguna Seca Recreation Area is subject to the California Vehicle Code. Bicycles and certain off-highway vehicles (gators, quads, etc.) and motorized (Go-ped) scooters are prohibited, camp areas included. The SWC staff uses a limited number of golf carts in order to conduct necessary transportation business. Such usage of properly identified vehicles by authorized personnel is not to be misconstrued as inconsistency with this policy. SWC is committed to maintaining a safe and legal environment.

 

Out of Bounds – Certain property adjacent to Laguna Seca is not part of the SWC authorized area and is therefore out of bounds. Please mind posted signs that notify of such limits. Bureau of Land Management, Federal property (BLM), is not available to SWC. Campers at the Ranch campground are not to enter the Pasadera Golf Course property, immediately next to the camp.

 

Parking and Traffic – $5 per day per vehicle with in/out privileges. Please drive slowly and carefully at all times due to the high volume of pedestrians on the property. Be extra cautious around festival traffic-control personnel standing in intersections and follow their directions. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Department will ticket illegally parked cars.

 

Pets – are not allowed on the festival grounds or campgrounds (service animals – seeing-eye dogs, etc. – excepted).

 

Police / Sheriff – Laguna Seca operates under the jurisdiction of the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department and other law enforcement agencies. SWC volunteer security personnel are not extensions of these agencies. Sheriff’s Dept. officers are on-site 24-hours a day at SWC. In the event of an emergency, call 911.  

 

Prayer Tents – are located at the K-LOVE Main Stage and near the Air 1 Stage. These tents are staffed with friendly prayer counselors during festival hours.

 

RV Dump – There is a free RV dump at Laguna Seca, but it is only accessible during certain hours due to potential traffic congestion. RV dump hours are strictly enforced. See camp manager for hours.

 

Security – teams will be on duty throughout the day and night. However, it is suggested that all valuables be locked in your car or secured otherwise. All attendees are expected to cooperate with all festival policies/guidelines, and all staff and security personnel. SWC is not responsible for lost or stolen property.  

 

Showers – are located within walking distance of all campgrounds. Check with each shower unit for hours of operation. Time limits will apply. Please shower quickly so the wait will be minimized for others and wastewater volume will be reduced.

 

Shuttle Buses – will circulate around the upper parking and camping areas for those who need assistance. Shuttle capacity is limited so please use the service only if necessary. Shuttle buses also service the Purple, Ranch and Collide campgrounds: Wednesday night, 8:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and Thurs-Fri-Sat, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 a.m.

 

Skateboarding, Rollerblading, and Scooters – are only allowed inside the fenced Skate Park. Every Skate Park participant will be required to sign a risk waiver.  Minors must have a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian.  There will be no rental of gear.

 

Sports and Recreation – Inflatable games, action activities and the Skate Park require usage fees. Check with vendors on-site for hours.

 

Standing Room Only Tickets (SRO) Tickets – are upgrade tickets, valid only when worn with a festival wristband ticket.  SRO wristband tickets are available, in advance only, for access to the area immediately in front of Main Stage.   A valid wristband SRO ticket is required to enter this area; ages 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Sunday Morning Service – with incredible praise and worship music, and a special speaker, will be held at 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Meet with your SWC brothers and sisters for one last time before heading home on Sunday.

 

T-shirts and SWC Merchandise – Proceeds from the purchase of soft drinks, bottled water, snacks, festival souvenir merchandise, and goods at the general store help fund the growth and sustain the quality of SWC.  

 

Telephones – There are over a dozen pay phones located throughout the festival grounds and activity areas.

 

Tickets and Wristbands – SWC will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or misplaced tickets. No refunds will be given. Wristbands must be worn on wrists only and are invalid if they are cut.  Always be prepared to show your wristbands when passing through admission gates.

 

Toilets – Toilet facilities are located throughout the grounds.

 

Towing – Illegally parked vehicles may be towed. Parking in posted “no parking areas” can result in great inconvenience and expense.

Ushers – will be on duty during all concerts to help keep aisles clear, maintain order, and assist in making all performances safe and enjoyable. Please follow their direction.

VeggieLand – hours are 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  Various activities within the compound operate at different times. Activities include face painting, petting zoo, crafts, and bounce houses.

 

Video/Recording – Videotaping or audio recording of any concert or seminar is prohibited due to copyright laws. This policy is strictly enforced.

 

Volunteers – It takes almost 1,000 volunteers to make SWC operational. Volunteers receive various discounts depending on the length of time they work. Join the “make it happen” team by becoming a volunteer.

 

What to Bring / Wear – Remember to bring the following:

  • your wristband ticket
  • pen and notebook
  • flashlight and extra batteries
  • BIBLE
  • camping and cooking supplies
  • spending money
  • bug repellent
  • blanket or mat
  • sunglasses
  • good walking shoes
  • hat, jacket, etc.
  • warm clothes

For your comfort and safety it is suggested that you bring the following in a backpack or day bag to keep with you and use as needed:

  • sunscreen/chap stick
  • inhalers (asthmatics)
  • headache/pain reliever
  • Band-Aids
  • prescription medications
  • water bottle

Please dress modestly. Shirts and shoes are required at all times and no swimsuits please. Also keep in mind that the weather at Laguna Seca and on the Monterey Peninsula can vary from warm in the day to cold and windy at night. Bring jackets and/or sweaters to dress in layers.

 

Wheelchair Seating – is provided at the Main Stage on the raised platform. Only one person may accompany the wheelchair person into this area. At other stages, wheelchairs should move along the sides, towards the front of the stage.
